The Photographic Angle and The Royal Photographic Society Environmental Project Funding 2012
The Royal Photographic Society in partnership with The Photographic Angle are offering funding for two 1-year projects to UK residents, to support a photographic project that would promote environmental awareness. The funding provides £3000 to assist with travel expenses, photographic equipment and other project-related costs. There were two awards available for applicants aged 16-25 and 26+ years.
Winners
The under-25 photographer is Ciril Jazbec, a Slovenian national, living in London, who has completed an MA in Photojournalism and Documentary Photography at the London College of Communication. Jazbec’s project is focusing on climate change through rising sea levels in small communities around the world.
The over-25 photographer is Mandy Barker, a British national based in Leeds. Barker graduated with an MA Photography from De Montfort University, Leicester, in 2011 and has had a number of well-received exhibitions and publications including her project Soup. She will use the bursary to look at marine plastic debris resulting from the Japanese Tsunami in the North Pacific Ocean.
The resulting work from these projects will be completed by August 2013 and then exhibited at the RPS Annual Awards ceremony in September.
