Distinctions - Licentiateship
This is the first level of Distinction awarded. The Licentiateship is open to all members of The Royal Photographic Society. Non-members of The Society may also apply but if they are successful, the Distinction will not be approved until they have become Members.
The Licentiateship is awarded either for competence in practical photography, or by passing of an appropriate examination in photography recognised by The Society

It is essential for all applicants to read the Distinctions and Qualifications booklet before applying
Evidence Requirements
- Still Photography: 10 prints, 10 slides or 10 images on CD-ROM.
- Audio Visual: One or more sequences not less than 10 minutes duration.
- Film and Video: 10 minutes of film or video.
- Research, Education and Application of Photography: Dissertation of approximately 5000 words
Fees: £40 (£20 for re-submission, once only).
Applications on CD ROM will only be assessed at meetings held in Bath.
