RPS International Print Exhibitor, Ellie Davies, shortlisted for The Aesthetica Art Prize 2016

09 May 2016

Region: Headquarters

Earlier this year Stars (2015) by Ellie Davies was shortlisted for The Aesthetica Art Prize Exhibition 2016. The exhibition of works by the 10 shortlisted artists is on display at York St Mary’s until 29 May 2016.

“The project 'Stars, 2014-2015’ explores my desire to find some balance between a relationship with the wild places of my youth and a pervasive sense of disconnectedness from the natural world.

Mature and ancient forest landscapes are interposed with images captured by the Hubble Telescope.  The series considers the fragility of our relationship with the natural world, and the temporal and finite nature of landscape as a human construct.”

Exhibition details: Aesthetica Art Prize Exhibition, York St Mary’s, Castlegate, York, YO1 9RN. 14 April – 29 May, Wednesday to Sunday, 12pm-4pm. Free Admission. More details at: www.yorkstmarys.org.uk.
