Performing for the Camera, Tate Modern - a visit

I didn’t have a complete idea of what to expect with this exhibition before I visited this week. I’d seen a brief review in Black+White Photography (Issue 187, page48) which covered the use of photography to capture performance art “live” and showed some entertaining images – the Plank Piece and Leap into the Void images by Charles Ray and Yves Klein/Harry Shunk/János Kender respectively being great examples of how a brief moment of “sculpture” can be made permanent in an image.
