Whether you are working digitally, using film or experimenting with more traditional processes, all subjects, genres and styles of photography can be entered into many of our competitions, grants and bursary opportunities. The majority are open to both members and non-members.

Monthly Competition: Black and White Photography

Open to all members, submit your striking black and white images to the monthly competition during March. Opens for entry: 1 March.

The Royal Photographic Society's Yorkshire Region and supported by Welcome to Yorkshire has put out a call for entries to its Yorkshire Print Exhibition 2017. Entries are open to anyone residing in Yorkshire and can be submitted from 1 January 2017.

Joan Wakelin Bursary

Administered by The Society in partnership with The Guardian. The Joan Wakelin Bursary offers £2000 for the production of a photographic essay on an overseas social documentary issue.

The Medical Group of the Royal Photographic Society administers a scholarship fund in memory of Dr Peter Hansell HonFRPS, a pioneer of the practice and teaching of medical photography in the second half of the 20th Century.

Student Funding

There is funding available for Society Events. This funding is to enable student photographers to attend selected Society Regional and Group events that they would not normally be able to afford.
