The Royal Photographic Society in partnership with The Photographic Angle is offering a 1-year bursary to support a photographic project that will promote environmental awareness.

This bursary is now closed.

The Royal Photographic Society in partnership with The Photographic Angle is offering a 1-year bursary to support a photographic project that will promote environmental awareness.

In addition to the funding you will also be able to claim your portfolio printed by Metro Imaging.

Applications are invited from anyone living or studying in the United Kingdom with a talent for taking photographs and an interest in the environmental concerns that we face today.

The bursaries will provide £3000 to assist with travel expenses, photographic equipment and other project-related costs.

The closing date will be the 11th June 2019. We will notify the successful applicants by the 8th July 2019.

We are looking for a creative interpretation of the subject as well as documentary and editorial photography.

Applying is a three step process - applications will not be accepted via email:

1) Read the information sheet about the bursary carefully.

2) Fill in and submit your written application here.

3) After submitting your written application you will immediately be asked to load your eight supporting images from a previous project. You may need to register if you do not already have a login (if you applied for a Bursary last year you should already have a password to login). The link for loading images can also be found here should you need it.

IMPORTANT - The images that you upload should be sRGB jpegs of no more than 2mb in size each. Image titles should be kept short or the images may not load correctly.  For example, if your surname was Jordan then we would recommend titling your images in the following way: Jordan1.jpeg, Jordan2.jpeg etc.  Please allow the images time to load (this may take a few minutes) and do not press submit more than once.

If you need further information please contact liz@rps.org
