Train - RPS HQ is within walking distance of both Bath Spa and Oldfield Park train stations (approximately 20 minutes walk from each). It should be noted however, that reaching The Society from both stations means walking uphill - the quickest route from Bath Spa is particularly steep. Visit National Rail for information on connection locations, train times and fares.
Park and Ride - Service Number 41. Odd Down Park & Ride is based on the South West side of Bath and operates a service every 12-15 minutes (depending on the time of day), Monday to Sunday (and on certain bank holidays). It is wheel chair accessible and only takes a few minutes to get here. You should get off the bus at the Wells Road stop which is very close to The Society. Find out more here.
Air - the nearest airport is Bristol Airport (BRS). The postcode is BS48 3DY and it is 7 miles South West of Bristol but there is a regular shuttle bus to Bristol which stops at both Bristol Temple Meads Train Station and Bristol Bus Station. Coach - National Express operate a service from London Victoria and Heathrow to Bath. Bath Bus Station is very close to the Train Station so please see above for information on the walk to The Society from there.
Car - Directions from M4 motorway Exit M4 motorway junction 18. Proceed south on A46 to Bath As you approach the city on a dual carriageway take the exit to Bath and go right at the roundabout, entering the city from the north east on the A4 London Road; follow this towards the city centre. At the first main traffic lights (after Morrisons supermarket on the left) turn left onto A36/A367 Wells and Exeter “ring” road. Proceed over Bridge, past Fire Station (on your left) and at the second set of traffic lights turn right signposted Bristol A36 (A4) Wells A39. Go straight over next roundabout and follow “ring” road through main traffic lights under railway bridge and on through Widcombe Village, (follow road and stay in left hand lane) until you reach the large roundabout which is bisected by main railway line viaduct. At this roundabout/intersection take first left exit A367 Shepton Mallet/Radstock and continue up the hill “Wells Road” for approx. ¾ of a mile.
Parking - There is limited parking available at the RPS at weekends. The RPS car park can be found behind the building, to access go through a gateway found on the left of the main entrance. While local residential streets offer unrestricted parking you are strongly advised to use public transport or Odd Down park and ride.
Local Bus - You can catch the number no. 13 from the centre of Bath - ask to get off at Bear Flat. This bus travels from Bathford to Foxhill, so you could alternatively catch it from the outskirts of the city. For central pick-up points click here, for a timetable click here.
