SPEAKING FOR PHOTOGRAPHY

The Society is the United Kingdom's leading photographic organisation and is well-placed to provide comment to the media on many different aspects of photography, photographers and issues surrounding photography. It can, of course, provide information on The Society's own history, members and activities.

The Society has media-trained headquarters staff with a broad knowledge of photography. It also has an extensive membership with expertise across all aspects of photography and image making and can usually locate an appropriate expert.

The Society has recently provided national newspaper, specialist photographic press, live BBC television and radio comment on issues ranging from photographers' rights, the photographer Eve Arnold, Eastman Kodak's Chapter 11 filing and the future of photography. It has supported documentary programmes covering subjects as wide-ranging as the Loch Ness monster through to providing historical expertise on nineteenth century photographic practice.
