    Visit to Mid-Hants Railway (Watercress Line)

    The Watercress Line is one of a number of preserved steam railways operating in the South of England, running 10 miles from Alresford to Alton in Hampshire. On the day of our visit two locomotives will be in steam and running the passenger service, which also calls at two intermediate stations, Ropley, and Medstead & Four Marks, The engine shed is at Ropley, and Medstead & Four Marks is a country station at the summit of the line, once the highest point on the south-east's rail network.
