London, Naturally – the London Region’s Natural History micro-group – is hosting two days of skills workshops, with Clive Rathband FRPS and Joan Ryder Rathband FRPS, to improve your natural history photography.

Please note that because numbers are limited, we are offering the same.  To book a space, email londonevents@rps.org with the booking code for the relevant session(s).

 

Friday 15th August

  • Morning:  Portfolio Reviews - individual sessions from 9.00; group review at 12.00 (Cost: £25; Booking Code 1508A)  2 SPACES LEFT
  • Afternoon (14,00 to 17.30) Option 1: Post-processing and editing for Natural History.  This will be based loosely on matters arising in the morning reviews.  Additionally, attendees are welcome to bring any 'problem' images with them.  Maximum 6 places. (Cost: £35; Booking Code 1508B))  FULLY BOOKED
  • Afternoon (14.00 to 17.30) Option 2:  Field trip to Brompton Cemetery - a beginner's guide to Natural History Photography.  Chance to use a macro lens and extension rods, as well as other useful gadgets.  (Cost: £25; Booking Code 1508C)
  • Evening: Chit-chat, wine and sunset.  Attendees to pay for their own refreshments.

Subject to demand, there will also be the possibility for a post-processing session on how to achieve creative images from nature pictures.

The workshops are open to RPS and non-RPS members, but there will be a £5 surcharge per session for non-members.

Cancellation policy

1. In the case of events and activities where the charge for participation is £25 or less (per person), no refunds will be made where a person cannot participate for any reason outside the control of the London Region.
2. In the case of events and activities where the charge for participation is more than £25 (per person), no refunds will be made where a person cannot participate for any reason outside the control of the London Region unless:- a) the actual cost of the event or activity to the London Region has been met by paying participants, and
b) the reason for not being able to participate is one that is outside the control of the person in question.
and
c) notice in writing (email is acceptable) outlining the circumstances for non-participation is given to the London Region no later than seven clear days before the start of the event or activity.
3. In any case, the London Region will only refund the sum paid (per person) and will not compensate for any consequential costs that may have been incurred, such as travel, accommodation, refreshments or subsistence.
4. A condition of payment for London Region events or activities charges is that this policy is accepted.
5. In the event of dispute the London Region Treasurer’s decision is final.
