THIS EVENT IS NOW FULLY BOOKED
The Durham Police Dog Unit have invited us to join them again during a police dog training session on Sunday, 08 June, 2014. The Unit will give us access to dog teams on duty that day. The day will be ‘out in the field’ on normal training exercises: German Shepherd dogs training for criminal work/ tracking /searching /obedience and agility exercises and Labrador or Springer spaniels training for drugs / cash and weapons detection searching.
This is a unique opportunity to get up close and personal with an important area of police work. But please remember that these are working dogs and your safety is your responsibility.
Places are restricted to 15 photographers.
Theme: Police Dogs in Action
Cost: Free, but each participant must agree to provide four photographs to the Dog Unit for the use of the police in publicising the work of the Unit. A voluntary payment of £10 per participant is requested as a donation to the Durham Retired Police Dog Charity. This money wil be collected on the day.
The best DVJ member’s image of a police dog in action, submitted to the Unit, will be awarded an RPS Thermos Flask. The winning image will be selected by the dog handlers hosting us on the day.
