This July, the Harwell campus, including STFC’s Rutherford Appleton Laboratory and partners, will be opening its doors to the public and schools.
This unique event will enable visitors to access all areas and learn about the UK’s involvement in space explorations, exciting experiments with powerful X-rays and neutrons, supercomputing and much more.
On display will be the RPS Light Works outdoor exhibition - Fifty images that provide a virtual journey through the electromagnetic spectrum from gamma rays to radio waves, showing how each kind of ‘light’ is used in our everyday lives through science, technology and medicine.
The images explore ways of looking at ourselves and the world around us in a journey that takes us to visible and invisible worlds from inside our own bodies to the outer reaches of the very edge of space!
The open day event is free however you must register for the public open day on the Harwell Campus website: http://harwellcampus.com/come-to-harwell/open-days/
