The London Naturally Group presents an informal Sunday afternoon stroll in St James’s Park. Charing Cross, Westminster or St James’s tube stations and numerous buses are close by.
We meet at Inn the Park café/restaurant beside the lake, a short walk from Horse Guards Parade. We will then spend a couple of hours photographing around the lake and the park, optionally meeting for tea/coffee afterwards.
St James’s Park is the oldest of London’s Royal Parks. The lake is home to a wide variety of bird life (including 15 species of waterfowl) and provides many good photo opportunities. It is famed for its resident pelicans and we will be able to see them being fed their daily fresh fish (2:30-3:00) when they really show off!
Sunset is just before 4pm so we should catch the best of the afternoon light and also, after dusk, might be lucky enough to see bats.
Inn the Park is open for lunch for anyone who wants to arrive earlier and eat before the walk.
