Please Note this is a specially arranged meeting taking place on the 27th Oct which is out of the usual First Tuesday sequence.
For this evening we welcome the Creative Group, one of the many Special Interest Groups available within the RPS. The speaker is David Jordan FRPS, who gained his fellowship at the end of 2014; his panel is on the Distinctions section of the RPS website. David is the Programme Secretary of the Creative Group and has been a member of the group since 2006, he is a lecturer and judge in the East Anglia region.
David says “The title ‘creative’ causes much confusion and uncertainty in the photography world, many look at the images created by members of the RPS Creative Group and are surprised that many of them look ‘normal’ and are not ‘Photoshopped’ to death. There often is more to creativity than just using digital manipulation software to ‘create’ an image.”
The Creative Group’s ethos: We look for personal expression in which the photographer seeks to stimulate the imagination and arouse the emotions of the viewer; derivative or manipulative techniques are not essential.
It is essential to book early and on-line since numbers are limited at this venue.
