Telling the story will talk about how to portray our vision and tell the story rather than concentrating on pure aesthetic and polish.   The story not the frame is the king.

Day 1 morning:  will cover equipment choice, the importance of video and why it is different to the still image, researching a story, planning the shoot, shot lists and gear preparation.   Angles, framing and format will be discussed as will audio.

afternoon:  practical session around Winchester with tutor and then debriefing, Q&A and be given a task to prepare for the 2nd day.

Day 2 morning session:  review and group discussion/critique of participants videos.    What could have been done better and how.

afternoon session: editing techniques for impact and flow.   Group shoot with tutor demonstration and questions from students.

This workshop assumes no prior knowledge of camera video work, but does assume a knowledge of the camera you are using.

Participants are expected to attend both sessions and to make the time to prepare a short video between Day 1 and Day 2.

Documentation will be provided, including links to useful sites, books, general camera set up, gear, editing software and relevant social networks.
