This workshop will start with a brief look at a few of the tutor's dance images followed by meeting with the model who is a classically trained ballet dancer.
Your tutor Jon, will then be showing how to set up a basic lighting system for simple dance images followed by a silhouette lighting set-up.
You will then work with the model on a one to one basis with guidance from Jon.
Lunch at 1pm
During the second half of this workshop Jon will be exploring and explaining the more creative side of dance photography including creating multi image and strobe effects.
For this technique you will require to use a tripod, a cable release or if available rear curtain facility on your camera (all technique will be explained) and we have a loan of a tripod if required.
With the tutor's guidance and after each set up you will get a chance to shoot the model on a one to one basis creating classic images, using various lighting techniques and modifiers.
What to bring:
A DSLR camera and 24 to 105mm lens or prime lenses; 50mm, 80mm 100mm. A tripod if you have one, a cable release, spare memory and fully charged batteries.
Please bring a packed lunch as there are no local facilities – although there is a pub which is a 10 minute drive away.
Jon will also be on hand to offer a critique and advice on your images through-out the day.
