Today's fine art printer is blessed with an abundance of riches – the standard of output is higher than ever and the range of paper surfaces is more varied than ever. Despite this, the route to a perfect print can be confusing as it involves the dreaded colour management. Also the expectation of screen to print has to be managed and even under perfect conditions the print will sometimes look a little dark or flat. What to expect and the strategy of dealing with it has to be explained with real examples, you cannot read about this subject! Mike will discuss the basics of setting up for both full colour and monochrome printing with a comprehensive range of surfaces and subjects for the delegates to handle. Mike is the lead tutor in Fine Art Printing at the Epson Print Academy and has tested almost every paper that has come to market since 2005.
