RPS London, Street Event – Woolwich
Walk in the Woolwich Town Centre and market / Meet the exhibitors of the Street Exhibition at The Berkeley Gallery.
The Walk will take place between 10:00-14:00 and the Private View 14:00-16:00
Woolwich has had a facelift in recent years with a revamped General Gordon Square, updated market area, flagship Tesco store and new Royal Borough of Greenwich Council offices. New developments cover the Royal Arsenal site with accommodation, which will soon be served by a Crossrail link to augment the previous introduction of the DLR.
The market in Beresford Square has been a feature of Woolwich since and has been trading since the 1600’s.
Historically important as a dockyard for Henry VIII the town has military associations which continue with the housing of The Kings Troop, the Royal Horse Artillery, in the nearby Royal Artillery Barracks.
Following the walk, between 2:00 – 4:00 pm, we will have a Private View and celebration of the Street Exhibition at the Berkeley Gallery following which exhibitors will be invited to retrieve their work.
Meet at The Heritage Centre, Artillery Square, Royal Arsenal, Woolwich SE18 4DX. Closest rail links are Woolwich Arsenal Suburban and DLR services, with bus and river services also available.
