~~De Beisbosch (see http://www.holland.com/global/tourism/article/national-park-de-biesbosch-1.htm or if you can read Dutch http://np-debiesbosch.nl ) is a unique fresh water nature wetlands area and national park that will make for a great photographic day out, for all of us to enjoy. We are planning to hold a short, but very important Annual General Meeting (AGM), for around 90 minutes in the morning to discuss our future activities. We will then hire silent flat bottomed boats (each boat holds 6/7 people) to cruise around the back waters of De Biesbosch in the afternoon. Given the time of year we can expect to see young wild fowl with parents, verdant plants and flowers, wild birds, maybe even interesting mammals or amphibians. Being able to get so close to the wild life in the silent boats should also mean we do not need to invest a fortune in a specialist lens, as used by full time nature photographers. So those amongst us who do not consider ourselves to be nature specialists may also get some decent shots.
De Beisbosch is located to the east of Dordrecht. If you do not know where De Biesbosch is, then this might help http://np-debiesbosch.nl/hoe-kom-je-er/bereikbaarheid/ but we will make sure you get full information nearer the time. If you arrive by train, we will endeavour to have other members meet you at the station, but the car is the most convenient way to get to De Biesbosch.
