In 2015 The East Midlands Region organised three photobook projects which proved very popular. One of the contributing photographers, Jackie Sellars has invited us to do similar at the 2016 Ashbourne Streetfest.
The beautiful market town of Ashbourne in Derbyshire will be taken over by street entertainers and vistors over the weekend Saturday 18th June and Sunday 19th June. Our assignment will be to photograph the event in whichever way we wish, to use our own creativity. Then within seven days of the event to send our submissions to editorial HQ who will then create a collaborative book. The book will then be laid out by ex fleet street news editor Shona Wall.
Photographers in the 2015 photobook projects found them educational and useful to compare how other photographers had approached the subjects. It was good to work in a team.
The organisers are supplying a meeting point and each day we will meet up at the start and then during the day. Your RPS contacts for this project are Stewart Wall ARPS and Robert Herringshaw LRPS.
There is no charge to participate but please book yourself a place onto the team. It's open to both members and non members of The RPS.
You can cover both days or just one, its your choice. Good luck
