Thames Valley DIG are very pleased to welcome Paul Gallagher ARPS who will be talking about the colour managed workflow, and how to set up monitors and printers to achieve consistent high quality output. Colour profiles and setting up the software to achieve great output is often not well understood. Paul will be talking us through these topics which will be of great benefit to those wishing to achieve high quality results with a minimum of trial and error.
'The Digital Colour Darkroom'
In this complex world of digital technology what is the simplest, and most refined way to bring your camera raw files back to life. Paul Gallagher will share his personal workflow with you to recreate the moment you were stood there with your camera.
'The Digital Black and White Darkroom'
Having been a professional black and white photographer and printer with over 28 years of darkroom experience, Paul Gallagher shares with you his approach to making fine black and white photographs in this digital age.
About Paul Gallagher
Paul Gallagher has been dedicated to the pursuit of the fine black and white image for over twenty-five years. He is recognized as one of the UK's top landscape photographers.
His main passion is the landscapes of Northern England and particularly the remote Scottish highlands and islands. He is a master large format photographer and printer and every image is hand crafted by Paul himself.
He is a consummate photographic teacher and lecturer regularly commissioned to write and present articles about the physical and mental processes involved in creating the expressive photograph. As such, he is widely published in photographic journals and the press. He is also an experienced photography workshop leader and running his own workshops and also for Light & Land a UK photography tour company, before co-founding aspect2i.
Paul is the author of Aspects of Expression, an exploration of monochrome photography, published in 2008 and his new book Chords of Grey a fine art portfolio was published in 2010.
Paul is an Associate of the Royal Photographic Society (ARPS). “Paul Gallagher’s photographs capture the grandeur of the landscape with the clarity that you find in the work of his favourite photographer, Ansel Adams” - David Clark, Amateur Photographer magazine.

We are also very lucky to have Mike Jones AAE, Eng Tech, FIMI, AMIRTE, MSOE, LCGI, ARPS to describe Permajet products that enhance and improve the production of Colour and Black & White prints for competition, exhibition and RPS panels. Mike will also talk about the advantages of quality papers and choosing the right paper for images.

PARKING: IMPORTANT - There is no parking at the Community Hall itself, except for speakers and judges, those disabled or anyone bringing heavy equipment to an event. Parking is in zones A and B of the Morrisons car park, accessed via Fernlea Drive - beyond Emmview Close, and just after the entrance to Morrisons. For those using SatNav, the postcode for Morrisons is RG41 3SW, and for Fernlea Drive it is RG41 3DR.
