The day is sponsored by The East Midlands RPS so there is no charge to attend but please resister so that we know numbers.
Todays talks are being given by two photographers, one who works at the photography department at Leeds College of Art and the other, a well known face around the Midlands camera clubs , who having been inspired by his early photographic days spent at Derby City Photographic left the BBC to pursue a freelance career in photography.
Telling stories via Photography Seminar
I met Madeleine Phiri when we were both exhibiting at The Saltaire Artists Trail and was highly impressed by her exquisite photographic work and wanted to share it with the RPS members.
She shoots in both digital and analogue and prints in varying ways including producing beautiful cyanotypes.
At this meeting her seminar will cover her work and how she looks to story tell in her imagery, utilising many creative processes. She will also run a short interactive session designed to help participants develop their own thinking when it comes to creating photographic projects and bodies of work.
Madeleine graduated, having studied Photography and Digital Imaging at Buckinghamshire in 2009. Since 2011 has worked at the Leeds college of Art where she teaches students of all ages.
