Elter Water (Lake of the swans) , heart of the Langdale Valley is surrounded by gentle wooded country leading to the steep and precipitous cliffs of the valley, enhanced by the nearby Elterwater and Loughrigg tarns.
Items to bring: Stout Shoes, Waterproofs, Flask of drink, and Packed Lunch Tripods and of course Cameras.
Meet National Trust car park NY 328047 AT 10.00am, 20p toilets nearby. Packed lunch gives better photographic opportunities but hostelries near to hand.
