The Archaeology and Heritage Group has teamed up with Heritage Open Days: England's biggest heritage festival. Group members are invited to celebrate our fantastic history, architecture and culture; offering people the chance to see hidden places and try out new experiences.
Every year on four days in September, the bunting is unfurled and buildings of every age, style and function throw open their doors. It is a once-a-year chance to discover the often hidden or forgotten gems on our doorsteps and enjoy a wide range of tours, events and activities that bring local history and culture to life.
This year the festival dates are 8-11 September, visit the HOD website to see what's on in your area. Many more events as well as any amendments will be added in the run up so do keep checking back. There will be many fantastic photo opportunities, so do take your cameras and share your pictures on HOD's social media channels, we’d love to see them and the A&H Group website.
