Learn advanced skin and shape retouching techniques using professional Photoshop processes.
This course is for delegates who have already completed beginners or introductory Photoshop courses, or who are more experienced users. The course shows you how to use Photoshop’s precision cutting and retouching techniques within a non-destructive workflow. The course is ideal for those working with portrait, product or composite imagery and those who enjoy post-production.
10.00 Welcome and outline of the course
Topic 1: Setting up a non-destructive workflow
Linking together Camera Raw, Photoshop, Smart Objects and Adjustment Layers.
Topic 2: Skin and surface retouching techniques
Invisible mending with the Clone Stamp, History Brush and Layer blends.
Topic 3: Shape retouching techniques
Shrink, reshape and remove with transform controls, guides, masks and layers.
Topic 4: Working across masks, channels and selections
Best practice for complex montage management, using alpha channels, saved selections and the double document display view.
Topic 5: Using the pen tool for precise shapes
Making complex cut-outs, paths and clipping paths
Topic 6: Delegates practicing on own files

What you need to bring along
A USB stick or portable hard drive with some of your own unedited
images – alternatively the tutor will provide sample files for you to work on.
Please bring a packed lunch or use local amenities – There is a Co-op, pub and deli open on Saturday, the Deli is shut on the Sunday.
