This advisory day is intended to provide guidance to anyone considering applying for Licentiateship - the first level of society distinction.

Licentiateship - There are no restrictions on the subject matter when applying for this level. A Panel of Associate or Fellowship members of The Society assesses your application.

Panel assessors to be confirmed. This will be an open session and spectators are welcome to attend. This advisory day will be for prints only.

Attending for Advice:

On arrival please register at the front desk and then place your panel safely on the desks to the side of the room. You will have the opportunity to receive guidance on your proposed panel and how to prepare it. The panel assessors will introduce the advisory day and show examples of successful panels. You will then be invited to display your images for comment. As a participant, you should bring your prints that you consider could form the basis for a panel, along with a number of spares. Ideally prints will be mounted, however there is no need to mount your images at this stage, but you can if you wish. Please also bring a hanging plan at A4 size.

Before you attend please make sure you have read the Distinctions Handbook which contains important information on requirements, categories and criteria regarding the panels. This can be downloaded from the RPS website www.rps.org/distinctions. It is advisable to bring along 5-10 spare images.

Spectators:

Spectating is a good way to learn about the distinctions system and to see the advice given. Please do not bring any of your own images to the event on the off-chance that you can receive advice. Only panels that have been booked can be assessed.
