A one-day workshop for photographers who would like to use Photoshop to develop their creative skills in photography, but are not sufficiently familiar with the range of tools and techniques in Photoshop. You will need to bring your own laptop with a version of Photoshop installed.
Many photographers recognise that their pictures could be enhanced by tweaking in Photoshop, but lack the skills and the confidence to make the necessary adjustments.
This workshop covers the basic techniques needed to import pictures into Photoshop and to make creative and artistic enhancements. The day will be hands-on and delegates are required to bring their own laptops loaded with a version of Photoshop.
- Creating and working with layers
- Resizing images
- Applying layer masks
- Using layer blend modes
- Layer styles
- Adjustment layers
- Selections and strokes
- Working in Camera Raw
- Transform tools
This workshop focuses on the essential tools and techniques. Individuals who are already confident with the above topics would probably find the ‘Creative Techniques in Photoshop’ workshop more relevant since it covers the ways in which the tools can be used to develop personal creativity.
The seminar will be run by John Humphrey. John is a Fellow of the Royal Photographic Society (FRPS). His work has been in many exhibitions including the International Print and Projected Image Exhibitions of the RPS and the London Salon Annual Exhibitions. His book ‘Close-up and Macro Photography, Art and Techniques’ is published by the Crowood Press.
A selection of John’s work can be found on his website:www.johnhumphrey.co.uk
