This longstanding annual event was previously the Group Conference, and attracted an increased number of new attendees in 2016, its first year as Members’ Showcase. We would like to build on this in 2017, and all those with an interest in archaeology or heritage are cordially welcomed to this October’s event.

The event is held at the Institute in Leatherhead, which is convenient for access from the M25, and there is a frequent rail service from London to Leatherhead. It is a good opportunity to meet members of the Group, and to learn about their photography interests through discussion as well as the presentations themselves.

Programme

Refreshments are served from 1000, with presentations commencing 1030. We break for lunch and finish in the late afternoon. Members make their own arrangements for lunch, but many congregate in the ‘Edmund Tylney’ in Leatherhead High Street, just a couple of minutes’ walk away.

There are usually six or seven presentations of varying length on a range of archaeology and heritage topics, reflecting the wide interest of our members. Each has a specific theme, built around good quality images taken by the presenter. The presentations are intended both to enlighten members on the topic and to showcase the photography.

Please contact the organiser if you wish to know more about the event. It is intended to provide details of the programme nearer the time.

Presenting

Those who have not presented before, and those who have done so occasionally, are warmly encouraged to present at the event as well as our more regular contributors. Images can be in the form of prints or projected digital images. Help is available with the latter for those unfamiliar with the requirements, and projection equipment will be provided.

Booking and Paying for the Event

The cost is £15.00 (£10.00 for group members, free to presenters). Please pay on the day.

Participants are asked to book for the event by contacting the organiser (see below), which helps us to plan the event and avoids disappointment in the case of oversubscription.
