Morning: The Future of the RPS
A review about the changes made to the Governance of The Society, and the challenges that lie ahead.
RPS distinctions
A review of what candidates need to know when attempting to apply for one of the RPS distinctions, with some practical suggestions and tips.
This knowledge will be given first hand from the President of the RPS, so please come along if you are thinking of applying for any of the distinctions, for good advice and to ask any questions you may have about the process.

Biography: Walter Benzie hails from Scotland; he attended school in Edinburgh and was at Edinburgh University studying law and economics as part of his training to be a Chartered Accountant.
He worked in South Africa for a number of years and drove back overland through Africa, India, Afghanistan and Iran in transit to the UK.
Having joined the RPS, he gained his LRPS distinction and became RPS Treasurer for 5 years before becoming Vice President and then President. He attained his ARPS in 2011.
Currently Walter sits on the LRPS panel and is a regular club judge.

We meet at Woosehill Community Hall, in Wokingham, Berkshire

Woosehill Community Hall is less than one mile away from Wokingham Railway Station. The station is served by trains between Reading and Waterloo, and also between Reading and Gatwick. Please be aware that Sunday train services can sometimes be erratic!

Parking in the small Hall car park is for speakers and judges, those disabled or anyone bringing equipment for an event. You should park in zones A and B of the Morrisons car park adjacent. Drive past Emmview Close  and Morrisons, then turn immediately left into Fernlea Drive, and look for parking zones A and B. Walk back through Morrisons car park zones C and D to get to the Hall.

Free tea, coffee and biscuits throughout the day. We suggest you bring a pack lunch, or you can purchase sandwiches etc at Morrisons Supermarket next door.

Hearing and access requirements

HEARING: Our Announcers and Presenters use radio microphones and a PA system at our events. ACCESS: The Hall has two ‘Disabled’ parking bays with sloped wheelchair access to the ground floor venue.
