Entrance to the park is free but there is a charge for anyone wishing to visit the house.

Mount Edgecumbe is a large country park near Torpoint. It also houses the National collection of Camelias.

We are going to view the wonderful display of Rhododendrons and here may still be some Camelias in bloom. Also the grounds are home to other plants and a selection of trees, a lake which had an obliging Kingfisher when last visited, plus a walk to the river with views over Plymouth and a small beach.

Visit for further details

We will meet at the pay and display car park which is by the entrance  on the way down to the pub by the river. This car park is past the entrance to the house and the last car park before the river. Anyone wishing to arrive by boat can take the foot ferry from Plymouth.

Bring a packed lunch, eat at the pub or in The Orangery cafe at Mount Edgecumbe.

This has kindly been arranged by Helen & James Moore who know the area well.

There will be no book online button for this event but please email Helen if you are coming in order we have an idea of the number of people attending, and when we leave the meeting area we have not left anyone behind.

Opening times

We will meet at 10am at the car park on the way down to the pub.
