Attending for Advice

On arrival please register at the front desk and then place your panel safely on the desks to the side of the room or as directed. You will have the opportunity to receive guidance on your proposed panel and how to prepare it.  The panel assessors will introduce the advisory day and show examples of successful panels.  You will then be invited to display your images for comment.  As a participant, you should bring the prints that you consider would form the basis for a panel, along with spares.

Before you attend please make sure you have read the Distinctions Guidelines, which contain important information on requirements and criteria regarding panels. This can be downloaded from the RPS website www.rps.org/distinctions. It is advisable to bring along a minimum of 5 and a maximum of 10 spare images.

A maximum of 16 bookings for those seeking advice will be permitted in order to ensure that enough time is given to each applicant.

Spectators

Spectating is a very good way to learn about the distinctions system.  As a spectator you will see examples of technical faults and to hear the advice given to participants regarding their panels. Please do not bring any of your own images to the event, as only panels that have been booked can be assessed.

General Note

Light refreshments (i.e. tea, coffee and biscuits) will be provided and attendees may bring their own lunch.

Alternatively, the Haven Centre is offering a limited lunch menu for attendees to pre-order by email. (Click here to download menu & order form)
