Documentary Travel Photography

Hazel Mason FRPS and James Frost FRPS

Though both full time GPs in the Scottish Borders, Hazel and James have photographed since their days as junior doctors. Over the past fifteen years, their style has concentrated mostly on documentary travel photography and working in projects. Hazel achieved her FRPS in the Travel Category in 2014, and James in 2012. Since then both have separately sat on the Travel panel of the RPS and James now sits on the Applied panel. Hazel has been on the Licentiate panel since 2012. James has been the Regional Organiser for the RPS Scottish Region since 2010. Though very much amateurs, photographing for the love of it, they have also recently undertaken photographic work on behalf of a medical charity – Calcutta Rescue.

Documentary Travel Photography Towards Fellowship- Burma and Calcutta

This first talk will discuss the concept of their photography then concentrate on Burma and James’ fellowship panel from there, followed by Calcutta and the development of Hazel’s Fellowship.

Continuing Journeys....Bangladesh and Beyond

The second talk shows work since their Fellowships and the current project-based ideas they are undertaking. In particular focusing on Bangladesh and Street Medicine with Calcutta Rescue
