Still Looking at the Family: Family Photography and Migration, is a one-day symposium investigating the most frequent and cherished uses of photography, the family photograph. In an era of unprecedented migration these artists reveal the working practices adopted to inform, challenge and question family photography today and how migration has become an integral part of family life.

Speakers include:

  • Chris Steele-Perkins. A Magnum photographer since 1979 Chris has photographed different groups in Britain and in the developing world. His work has been widely published in book form.
  • Silvia Rosi is an London-based photographer and has most recently won the 2019 Jerwood/Photoworks Award.
  • Patricia Holland is the author with Jo Spence of Family Snaps: The Meanings of Domestic Photography a Chapter in Photography A Critical Introduction.
  •  Suze Adams is a co-coordinator of the Family Ties Networka research group of artists, filmmakers and writers who explore memory, space, place and the family in photography and moving image.
