Whether a restful haven of serenity, a jam-packed platform for sun worshippers
or a curious observation of British society determined to make the most of the
day, the beach is a perfect location for all genres of photography; macro,
documentary, seascape, portrait and even wildlife.

"The seaside has to be one of the most fascinating places for
people-watching," says Martin Parr. "It is a place where we relax and lose our
inhibitions, and that's when true personalities come on display."

This workshop is designed for both the typical enthusiast photographer and
photographers wanting to expand their understanding for how to create a
photographic story through images and is aimed at participants who have a good
understanding of the major camera controls. The emphasis is not on teaching
what you can gain from a textbook (digital workflow, Photoshop manipulation
etc) but how to use time on location, edit your images and be involved in
group critics. Techniques and processes used to help the photographer tell a
story or make a record. With the guidance of your tutor you can achieve the
rewarding goals of building on your existing abilities and possibility brake
into new interest within the photography practice.

Please note that this course is specifically designed for SLR cameras, however should you wish to use a compact digital camera then please contact john@omniproductions.co.uk
