One of the UK’s best-known photographers Martin Parr was appointed Professor of Photography at the University of Wales in 2004 and was guest artistic director for Rencontres d’Arles the same years.

In 2009 he was one of the main exhibitors at Arles. He has earned an international reputation for his oblique approach to social documentary photography.

He is a member of Magnum and in 2009 was awarded Hon FRPS. Recently he has developed an interest in film making as well as fashion and advertising.
