Distinctions Advisory Day
Saturday 30th October


The London Region with the Visual Art Group is organizing a Distinctions Advisory Day on Saturday 30th October in the Verral Hall, United Reformed Church, Widmore Road, Bromley BR1 1RY which is the regular meeting place of the Bromley Camera Club.

Arrival, registration and coffee will be from 09.30am with the event starting at 10.00.  The Church is in  Bromley town centre and there are several car parks.  The Civic Centre car park has plenty of space early and is recommended to those coming by car.  Public transport is well provided with Bromley North and South rail stations not far and there is a bus stop immediately outside the Church for several routes.  MAP (pdf download)

There will be three advisors, Richard Walton FRPS, Steve Smith FRPS and George McCarthy FRPS who will comment on the applicant’s work giving about 15 minutes in total.  Subjects to be covered wil be LRPS general, Visual Art and Nature.   Advice will be given for two categories in distinction; Licentiate and Associate.  It is recommended that applicants should have available up to ten additional images to the number required for the respective distinction.  Observers may also attend for whom there could be considerable interest particularly if they aim to attend a future advisory day or submit a an application for assessment.

Work may be submitted in the form of mounted prints, maximum mounted size 40 x 50cms or colour slides or digital projected images.


The deadline for submission of work for the digital projected images category is 9th November.

There will be a lunch break of about 45 minutes around 12.30 with the afternoon session lasting to 4pm at the latest  subject to the number of applications received.  Places will be limited.

The fee for applicants requiring advice about their work £20 and £15 for observers.  Sandwich lunch and coffee will be provided
