Dr David Ratcliffe has worked in holography since 1982. In 1989 he founded Australian Holographics Pty Ltd, an Australian company making some of the largest commercial analogue holograms in the world. In 1992 , David founded Geola, short for General Optics Laboratory, in Vilnius Lithuania. Amongst other things, Geola developed unique pulsed laser systems. These systems found applications first in analogue holography and then by the end of the 1990s, in digital holography. The talk will concentrate on Geola's work from 1998 to today on the development of the field of pulsed laser digital holography.
