This year's February event comprises two excellent speakers, Edmund Clark and Steve Le Provost FRPS, and our AGM. Please see below for information on our speakers.

 

Doors open at 10.30am when coffee will be served. The event begins at 11.00am with our first speaker. Our Regional AGM will commence at 12.45 and our second speaker will present their talk after lunch. Please note that only paid-up members of the RPS may attend the AGM at 12.45.

Venue: Hough End Centre, Manchester M21 7SX. Please note that attenders are permitted to park in the Hough End Centre Car Park on this date.

Tickets: may be obtained by sending a stamped, addressed envelope in advance to Sylvia Jones, 3 Newlands Avenue, Bramall, Stockport SK7 2JU. Please enclose your name and those of your guests. Cheques to be made payable to "The Royal Photographic Society - North West Region".

 

 

Edmund Clark

As a photographer with a reputation for combining strong ideas with an ability to work in sensitive situations, Edmund Clark is best known for his images exploring the consequences of control and incarceration.
Awards include Editorial Photographer of the Year  at the International Photography Awards 2010, the British Journal of Photography International Photography Award 2009, a Terry Oeill/IPG Award for Contemporary British Photography 2008, and a Gold Pencil at the One Show Awards in New York 2003.
Books include 'Still Life Killing Time' (Dewi Lewis Publishing, 2007) and his new monograph 'Guantanamo: If the light goes out' (Dewi Lewis Publishing, 2010).

 

Steve Le Provost FRPS

Steve regards himself as a creative photographer and digital artist. He has been awarded many major awards at the very highest levels of national and international photographic salons. He was enrolled as a Fellow of the Royal Photographic Society in 2006 and currently serve on their distinctions panel assessing Associateship and Fellowship panels of work for the Visual Art Category. Some of Steve's work is included as part of the Royal Photographic Societies Permanent Collection for the Nation. 

 

I label myself a creative photographer and digital artist.
My style of work has allowed me receive many major awards at the very highest levels of national and international photographic salons. I was enrolled as a Fellow of the Royal Photographic Society in 2006 and currently serve on their distinctions panel assessing Associateship and Fellowship panels of work for the Visual Art Category. I lecture extensively across the country and serve as a national and international photographic salon judge. Some of my work is included as part of the Royal Photographic Societies Permanent Collection for the Nation.
