From Polar Bears to Penguins
Lee & Bernadette Kitchingman (Both AFIAP, CPAGB, BPE2*)
Lee and Bernadette enjoy visiting colder regions, either above the Scandinavian Arctic Circle or around Antarctica. Tonight, they will be in search of Polar Bears in Svalbard and King Penguins in South Georgia. Wildlife photography is their passion. Lee specializes in video - he converted to high definition four years ago - while Bernadette specializes in digital still images. Both have had significant success with their images in national and international competitions.
Bring along your cold weather gear as they absorb you in close encounters with fascinating creatures from both Polar Regions. The evening will include a variety of wildlife, mingled with some interesting polar history. As usual this evening will be open to the general public, so please book in advance to avoid disappointment.

Saturday December 3rd
Great Northern AV Competition
A National AV competition open to anybody resident in the British Isles and to overseas members of British AV Groups. There is a special prize for the best beginner's sequence, so this is an excellent opportunity to see both National/International standard AV and what can be achieved by relative newcomers, all in one competition.
Finishing time will depend on the number of entries

Sunday December 4th
Lectures & Presentations by the judges of the Great Northern AV Competition
Attendees Sequences with comments from our guest speakers and members of the audience is an invaluable way to obtain advice and for everyone to learn how their work might be improved. As usual our guest speakers will be the three judges from Saturday who will be discussing and demonstrating various AV techniques using some of their sequences as illustrations. If past years are anything to go by, all kinds of useful information will be included.

Tea, coffee etc are included throughout Saturday and Sunday.
An extensive buffet lunch is available if pre-booked, or you can bring your own sandwiches. We try to make the event as friendly as possible by providing name badges and including time for socialising and browsing.
The usual information and bring and buy second hand equipment stands will be present (please put your name on items for sale!) You will be welcome on any day, or for the whole weekend.
Information packs will be sent in the Autumn to previous attendees and anyone else whom we think might be interested.
