Margaret Goodwin ARPS was born and brought up in the Lake District by a mother who gave her a camera at the age of seven and when she was seventeen took her on a shoot to Morocco’s Atlas Mountains. Little wonder that she is now a traveller in the true sense of the word, has visited over fifty countries and prefers to go to places that have just opened their doors to the outside world. From Margaret’s list of lecturers, the Middle East, Egypt, China, Tibet, India, Myanmar, I chose “Himalayan Kingdoms” because she says, ”I have a passion for mountains and have been fortunate to travel many of the high passes of the Himalayan Range by 4WD.” It was with photographs from these Himalayan trips that Margaret gained her Associateship.
Richard Tucker FRPS is no stranger to Northern Region and it is a pleasure to welcome him back He is still a leading exponent of audio visual but is now digital. From 1971 to 1982 Richard was resident lecturer at the Nikon School running workshops and weekends and travelling the U.K. with The Nikon Experience an 8 projector multi –vision show. He worked as a professional photographer specialising in Audio Visual for clients such as British Airways, Saudia, Gulf Air, British Telecom and the British Army. On Saturday evening he will entertain with a digital AV show and on Sunday morning he will explain explain the programme and how the effects were achieved.
Ken Bryan lived in the Midlands and was a member of Stapleford C.C. in the 60’s when he started taking photographs. He became passionate about landscape photography which took over his life and he began hill walking, climbing and mountaineering in search of landscape pictures. He bought a derelict property on the Isle of Skye and after renovation he moved there in 1997. He now has a studio and a gallery on the island selling his Fine Art Photographic Prints and his wife’s paintings.
