About Your Tutor
Derek Gale, of Gale Photography, is an award-winning professional photographer based in South Oxfordshire. As well as running his own social photography business, he’s an inspirational speaker about photography, and an experienced photographic judge.
What’s the course?
In this course you will learn how to see the photographic potential of the world around you, how to compose pictures that have much more impact and interest, and how to enhance your images using easy editing techniques in Photoshop.
Who is the course for?
This course is for anyone who wants to improve their photographic creativity and composition skills in order to move their photography to a more advanced level. You’ll need a working knowledge of your compact digital camera or DSLR.
What happens on the course?
On the course there are seminar sessions combined with practical exercises. The sessions include; “Photograph what your brain sees”, “Look Different”, “Creative use of mistakes”, and the creative use of Viewpoint, Movement, and Focus. There’s also a fun group exercise. In the final session you’ll learn some easy Photoshop editing techniques to enhance your images.
What do I need to bring?
Your digital camera, spare charged camera battery, blank memory card, and your camera manual. A pen and paper might also be useful.
Bring a packed lunch or use local facilities. Tea and coffee are provided. The course is based in and around Fenton House depending on time and weather conditions.
