Meet at Swallerton Gate Car Park below Hound Tor, we will walk over to Jays Grave, Hamel Down to Widdecombe

This is about 6 miles with some strenuous walking over rough ground, packed lunch is essential as there are no eateries on the way until we reach Widdecombe.Good walking boots and waterproof clothing are essential. We may stop in Widdecombe in the afternoon for tea and refreshments. If the party wishes we could visit the ancient stone circle at Grimspound en route. 

If the weather is wet there is a shorter option by walking through woods to cut the route short.
