The Imperial War Museum at Duxford is Europe's largest collection of military aircraft, ranging from the early examples from World War 1 through World War 2 classics like the Spitfire and Lancaster, to later aircraft such as the B-52 bomber.

In the afternoon we shall visit the World War 2 American Cemetery at Madingley nr. Cambridge, a dignified and haunting shrine to American servicemen who died while based in Britain.
