Meeting place: The Ainsdale Discovery Centre, The Promenade, Shore Road, Ainsdale-on-Sea, nr Southport PR8 2QB

Main subjects of interest: Orchids and other dune flora, insects and other fauna. We may be fortunate and find the northern Dune Tiger Beetle, as well as early butterflies and dragonflies, and possibly Sand Lizard and Natterjack Toad.

Leaders: Trevor will be accompanied by Dr. Phil Smith who is a noted expet on the Sefton Coast.

Additional information: there are very few natural hazards but the area is exposed so bring warm clothing and waterproofs in case of rain. Sensible shoes or boots are needed. Bring a packed lunch and drinks.

There is plentiful accommodation in the nearby seaside town of Southport.
