The Royal Photographic Society celebrated the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games with an online photographic competition, which ran from April - September 2012. The print exhibition of Award winning and selected finalists' images from Stage 1 'Sport for All' and Stage 2 'Spirit of the Games' will be shown at R K Burt Gallery as part of the Cultural Olympiad.
Photographers were asked to capture an image to show how the world was getting into the spirit of the world’s greatest sporting event. From community cultural and sporting events and celebrations of the Games, through to national and international organised events, including the action at the Games themselves.The Gold, Silver and Bronze Award winners' prizes were kindly donated by Panasonic UK, Audio Visual Partners for London 2012.
The Society is grateful to Redcliffe Imaging for the printing and R K Burt & Company Ltd for supplying the Hahnemühle paper for the exhibition.
