Aimed at those who are comfortable with their cameras and want to take memorable images with technical guidance where needed, and professional lighting set ups throughout the day for shooting technically controlled interiors.
the day includes:
- Exclusive access to the station and its beautiful lakeside gardens and grounds
- classroom session to inspire you with image ideas and advice on colour temperature control
- The opportunity to learn the secrets of lighting in large interior spaces
- Plenty of time to work at your leisure to create winning pictures with technical assistance when you require
Papplewick Station opened in 1884, powered by two massive Watts Rotative Beam Steam Engines which pumped water from a depth of some 200ft. Lovingly restored and fully functioning, the main engine house is beset with decorations of birds, flora and fauna, stained glass and ornate lanterns. This is a fantastic opportunity for anyone interested in architecture, engineering and victoriana in all its glory!
Since graduating from the Surrey Institute of Art in 1990 Martine has specialised in architectural photography. Over the last 22 years she has run a successful business working for a variety of organisations including architects, construction companies, interior designers and advertising agencies. Her work has been published in many international books and journals. www.builtvision.co.uk
Clients with special needs or requirements must advise the RPS before the event so that appropriate measures can be taken. There is wheelchair access and disabled toilet facilities at some of our training venues, but courses including outdoor activity are likely to encounter steps, gradients and other physical barriers. Often old listed properties do not have lifts and certain shot viewpoints may involve using several flights of stairs. Further details can be obtained from the RPS office and should be discussed before the event.
Tea or coffee will be provided in the morning and afternoon breaks.
Lunch is not included, and Papplewick is in the heart of the countryside so please bring a packed lunch.
