Jeff Morgan - Jeff is a professional photographer who lives in Bath, England. He started his company Elm Studio in USA in 2002 and in the early days focused mostly on architectural and location photography. As one who is continually practicing his craft, Jeff also finds it important to study and stay up to date in the photographic arts. Lately Jeff’s love of teaching photography has resulted
in his tutorials being extensively published in PhotoPlus and his images and articles have also been published in Practical Photoshop,
Digital Camera, TechRadar as well as other photographic magazines in Europe, USA and China. Jeff has a lot of photographic expertise to share and really enjoys running workshops, speaking and teaching. He has the ability to explain complex technical concepts in ways that students easily grasp, and he inspires others with his ability to blend a photographer’s discipline with an artist’s creative hand.

A Tutorial on HDRI (High Dynamic Range Imaging)
If you have ever photographed a high contrast scene, you know that selecting the correct exposure means compromising either the bright highlights or the dark shadows. High dynamic range imaging (HDRI for short) is a set of techniques that allow a far greater dynamic range of exposure than normal digital imaging techniques. The aim is to accurately represent the wide spectrum of intensity levels found in everyday scenes, ranging from direct sunlight to deepest shadows, by means of multiple exposures layered together. An HDR image offers the advantage of much greater dynamic range making it possible to capture both the brightest and darkest parts of an image without sacrificing one for the other. Another use for HDR is for maximum visual effect, the HDR ‘Grunge’ look that is often somewhat over used these days. The look you either love or hate! In this tutorial you will learn how to capture HDR images on your digital camera. You will find out how to process these images in Photoshop CS6 and PhotoMatix to create stunning prints. Many examples will be shown, and appropriate subjects for HDRI techniques will be discussed. Come and find out how you can make stunning HDR images yourself!
