Heather Hook:- Having studied photography in London, and worked for a short time in an advertising studio, Heather left the UK to
work for a picture agency to produce travel images of Portugal. She planned to stay for a few months, but finished up with a very successful photographic business, eventually returning to the UK 11 years later. In 1968 Heather took her first aerial photographs and over the years have photographed in S.Africa, Canada, all over the UK, and the USA.
Heather’s most successful project was photographing London from the air for a guide book. The first edition was published in 1984; the book has been in stock and up dated a number of times since then with a brand new edition of all new photographs being published in 2012 to coincide with the Olympics. Heather’s best selling image was taken in Bath, it became known as the Quest ion Mark and apart from being used in a number of publications, sold in the region of a million postcards. Heather does not have a head for heights, but she gets a tremendous buzz taking aerial photographs.
Penny & Spike Piddock, (both DPAGB & AFIAP) live in Weymouth and are members of Dorchester Camera Club British Society of Underwater Photographers(BSOUP). In addition to enjoying a broad range of photography they have been taking underwater photos for many years, starting with homemade equipment before underwater photography became as accessible as it is today. Penny is interested in the transition between air and water and most of her photography uses natural light. As a diver Spike is able to concentrate on getting more of the amazing Macro subjects found in the tropical waters we enjoy exploring.
