Keith Brown FRPS FIPF EFIAP MPAGB APAGB & Kate Brown LRPS DPAGB

Keith Brown FRPS FIPF EFIAP MPAGB APAGB & Kate Brown LRPS DPAGB, will be travelling from Derbyshire to present their audio vidual work. This husband and wife team really enjoy working together both making and presenting AVs, and they are looking forward to sharing their work with the South Wales RPS AV Group.

Keith’s serious interest in photography started when he joined Aston & Erdington Photographic Society, Birmingham, in the 1970s. Black and white photography was his first love, until he discovered Audio Visual (AV) when he saw a show by Ray Dowding. Keith gained his FRPS in AV in 1982.

He teamed up with Clive Atkins FRPS, and later Richard Brown FRPS, giving shows and leading workshops all over the country and abroad. After producing slide-tape sequences for a number of years, Keith found the transition to digital sequences quite a challenge, particularly as he has a love-hate relationship with computers. He then met Kate and with her help and encouragement Keith was able to work towards producing award winning digital sequences.

He was honoured to receive the award of APAGB for services to the PAGB and is a member of the Royal Photographic Society's Multimedia and Narrative Distinstions Panel.

Kate’s connection with photography began as a small child when she was occasionally allowed to use her Dad’s 35mm camera. She acquired her first SLR in her early twenties and taught herself to use it, but never found time to join a camera club. After meeting Keith and being introduced to the photographic world, she has enjoyed learning how to make better use of her camera, and has also started to produce her own AVs. She made the conversion to digital seven years ago and burnt out her digital SLR in the process of gaining her DPAGB in AV and an LRPS in stills. A love of music made the move into AV inevitable.

Held in the lower Heath Citizens Community Centre, Cardiff (located opposite183, King George V Drive East, Cardiff, CF14 4EP). See link for map: http://www.rps.org/resources/workshops/HeathCitizens_Centre_map1.pdf
