Cathedrals are a rich source of material for the documentary photographer, offering everything from a historical documentary project through to a portfolio of abstracts.  

The DVJ is organising Cathedral Week, where we are asking DVJ members to capture images from different cathedrals around the country (and even around the world).

There are a number of ways that you can participate:

1.  Simply choose your cathedral, your time and go and shoot there.  Please check in advance that photography is permitted and check whether tripods and flash are permitted.

2.  Organise a group mini-shoot.  Choose a cathedral and time, email us at dvj@rps.org for us to post to the website and Flickr.  We can also email other members in the region.  

3. Winchester Cathedral:  The Archaeology and Heritage Group has kindly invited us to join them on their shoot at Winchester Cathedral (details here).   The DVJ contact person is Mo Connelly, who will be present at the shoot.   If you wish to attend please let her know at dvj@rps.org.
